PRP (PLATELET-RICH PLASMA)
TREATMENT AREAS AND PRICES

LASTS 6 - 24 MONTHS DEPENDING ON INDIVIDUAL SKIN TYPE AND LIFESTYLE FACTORS

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP Platelet-Rich Plasma is an advanced skin treatment used for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration. The treatment uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell and tissue growth.
It has a progressive action and offers a long term enhancement to skin texture and tone through its release of growth factors and by regenerating collagen which helps restore your natural glow.
The gradual improvements become noticeable a few weeks after treatment as the collagen production increases; reducing the appearance of wrinkles, improving acne scarring and the tone around the eyes.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE INJECTED?

  • Full face

  • Neck and jawline

  • Décolletage

  • Backs of hands

  • Delicate eye area

  • Receding hairlines

  • Other body areas

For best results, it is recommended to have 3 sessions 4-6 weeks apart, with a maintenance dose every 6-24 months depending on individual skin type and lifestyle factors, but a one-off treatment will still give results for several months. Each treatment session takes approximately 60 minutes.

"PRP offers the natural results which I am passionate about and is an excellent alternative treatment to patients already receiving injectables, or for patients who are not yet confident for injectables" Amanda

PRP PROCEDURE
  • The procedure is simple, and safe and offers long lasting, natural results. You will have a consultation with Amanda to screen if treatment is appropriate for you, to discuss expectations, concerns and side effects
  • A small amount of blood is taken from your arm
  • The sample is spun in a centrifuge which separates the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma
  • The PRP is ready to be injected into your chosen treatment areas

To optimise results Amanda uses injections as well as micro needling with the derma pen to administer the PRP.  Micro needling causes multiple, superficial, controlled micro injuries that stimulate your body's natural wound healing process, releasing growth factors which creates new collagen and elastin. The addition of micro needling optimises penetration and the absorption of the PRP through the tiny open channels created.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
  • As PRP comes from your blood, it is a natural substance with no additives, activators or risks of hypersensitivity; so side effects are minimal. Immediately after treatment there may be swelling, redness, itching and dryness to the skin. The treated area will resemble moderate sunburn - this reduces within the first 1-2 hours and furthermore over the next 24 hour period. Bruising may occur at the injection sites, with the eye contour being the area most at risk. This will usually resolve within 5-7 days
  • A slight purple discolouration of the skin for 2-3 days post treatment can occur due to the colour of the plasma that has been injected
  • Avoid aspirin or anti inflammatories for the first day
  • Your post treatment face mask can be used to soothe the skin at home
AFTERCARE
  • It is recommended that the use of soap or strong face creams on the treated areas are restricted until the skin normalises and heals. Use warm water and gentle cleansers, do not scrub and pat dry until the skin has healed
  • Makeup may be applied once the skin has settled, usually the next day
  • Avoid touching the skin for 6 hours to avoid infection
  • The skin may flake after a couple of days - refrain from touching or pulling loose skin, this avoids causing an uneven result in pigmentation
  • Avoid any other aesthetic and beauty procedures (peels/microdermabrasion), electrolysis, depilatory creams, waxing, exfoliating and laser hair removal for a minimum of 1 week after treatment or until the skin has fully healed
  • Avoid intense sunlight, saunas, sunbeds and steam baths for at least 1 week
  • SPF 30/50 cream should be used at all times but especially in the healing phase
  • Avoid alcohol and spray tans for at least 6 hours post treatment
  • When the skin is fully healed, you can return to your normal skincare routine including the use of retinol
  • Everyone is different, but most people are happy to return to work the same, or following day. Most people will be fully healed after a week

Remember that these treatments give very natural and subtle changes, we have a tendency to quickly forget how we looked prior to treatment!
